Rey Pamatmat, Idris Goodwin and Geetha Reddy.<\/p>\n<p>The season opener, Pamatmat\u2019s <em>Edith Can Shoot Things and Hit Them <\/em>(Feb. 26\u2013March 21, directed by Desdemona Chiang), is the story of Edith and her brother Kenny, who must deal with a chain of events which brings\u00a0them\u00a0closer together than ever before. Next up is\u00a0Goodwin\u2019s <em>Blackademics\u00a0<\/em>(April 9\u2013May 2, directed by Mina Morita), about a dinner gathering of\u00a0two African-American scholars that goes awry.<\/p>\n<p>Finally,\u00a0Reddy\u2019s <em>On a Wonderverse\u00a0<\/em>(Oct. 1\u201324, directed by Jon Tracy), in its world premiere, tells the story of a\u00a0female scientist, Dr. Alpharetz Schen, who creates a brand new universe and then figures out what to do\u00a0with it. The play is a\u00a0co-commission from Crowded Fire and the local <a href=\"http:\/\/www.playwrightsfoundation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Playwrights Foundation<\/a>, who last teamed up for\u00a0Christopher Chen\u2019s\u00a0<em>The Hundred Flowers Project <\/em>in 2012<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The season will conclude with the Matchbox Readings Series, CFT\u2019s annual festival of staged readings,\u00a0Nov.\u00a013\u201315. The titles will be announced prior to the festival. This is the company\u2019s\u00a0final season under <a title=\"Marissa Wolf Leaves Crowded Fire for New Post at Kansas City Rep\" href=\"http:\/\/americantheatre.org\/2014\/10\/marissa-wolf-leaves-crowded-fire-for-new-post-at-kansas-city-rep\/\">outgoing artistic director Marissa Wolf<\/a>, who said in a statement,\u00a0\u201cI\u2019m incredibly proud to program my final CFT season with these plays! There is a dominant theme in all three that centers around women and the choices women make to stay alive, to follow their voices, and to pursue their convictions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Crowded Fire Theater is the company in residence at the intimate\u00a080-seat\u00a0Thick House in the Potrero Hill neighborhood of San Francisco.\u00a0Known for presenting works by up-and-coming\u00a0playwrights, CFT\u2019s mission is to contribute\u00a0to the creation of a contemporary canon\u00a0which reflects\u00a0the diverse world in which we live.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Crowded Fire Theater has announced its 2015 season, which will feature plays by A.
